Terms of Membership

1. Who you are contracting with

Moed is operated by MOED LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17441845, registered office 61 Inverness Mews, London E16 2SP. You can reach us at admin@moed.uk.

2. What a founding membership is

A founding membership is a single payment of £49 made before Moed opens. There are 500 of them and they are sold in the order they are taken. It gives you:

• one of the 500 founding places in the first London wave, ahead of the public opening;
• a Founding Member mark on your profile;
• full access to Moed Core for twelve months from the day your account is opened, twelve months that cost £228 at the standard rate of £19 a month;
• the right to continue at £19 a month after those twelve months, for as long as your membership runs without a break, whatever our standard rates become;
• an invitation to comment on the venues we add to the city.

After those twelve months, membership continues only if you choose it, and founding members continue at the founding rate of £19 a month. Our standard rates at the date of these terms are £19 a month for Moed Core, £39 a month for Moed Plus and £99 a month for Moed Private, paid month by month with no annual contract. Nothing renews automatically without your agreement, and we will always tell you the price before you pay it.

All prices are in pounds sterling and include any tax due. If the 500 founding places are taken before your payment is completed, we will not take your money, and any payment taken in error is refunded in full within five working days.

3. When the service starts

We expect to open the first London wave in spring 2027. Moed opens to founding members when that wave is confirmed, and we will tell you by email at the address you paid with. Until we open, your payment is held in full and stays refundable to you on request. If we have not opened within twelve months of your payment, you may ask for a full refund and we will pay it.

4. Who can join

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. Membership is personal to you and cannot be transferred or sold.

5. What we do and do not promise

Moed introduces members to each other and proposes a place and an hour to meet. We do not promise a particular number of matches, a particular person, or a particular outcome. Venues are suggested by us and booked by you unless we say otherwise, and we are not responsible for a venue's service or availability. Moed finds and holds the table; membership does not include the cost of anything ordered at a venue: food, drink and any other charges on a date are paid by the members themselves, directly to the venue. How members share that bill between them is their own decision.

Messaging between matched members is included in membership. Moed does not charge for individual messages, does not sell credits, coins or tokens used to talk to another member, and operates no paid chat, pay-per-message or credit-based conversation feature of any kind. No one on Moed is paid to send messages to members.

6. Conduct

Every member passes a live selfie check before taking part. We may suspend or close an account, without refund, where a member behaves abusively, misrepresents who they are, or puts other members at risk.

We have zero tolerance for human trafficking. Members must not use Moed to traffic, exploit or facilitate the trafficking of any person, including trafficking for sexual exploitation, and must not aid, abet, encourage or facilitate the abuse or exploitation of any person in any way. Any member who does so is removed permanently, without refund, and reported to the relevant authorities. This sits alongside, and is part of, the wider prohibitions in our acceptable use policy.

7. Your money and your data

Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider, over an encrypted connection. MOED LTD does not see or store your card number. Founding payments taken before we open are held in full and remain refundable to you on request until the first London wave opens. How we handle your personal data is set out in our privacy notice. What is and is not allowed on Moed is set out in our acceptable use policy, which forms part of these terms, and requests from authorities are handled under our protocols for law enforcement. Refunds are covered by our refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Changing these terms

If we need to change these terms before Moed opens, we will email founding members. If a change is to your disadvantage, you may ask for a full refund instead of accepting it.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing here removes your rights under UK consumer law.
